kcwc day 1:

Well, we’re off to a bumpy start. With all the things I had to do today, I didn’t get a whole lot done. And this one might be cheating, but it was a genuinely on my list, so I can now cross it off.

I now love this layered style of little boy shirts even more.  Here are a few of B’s cold weather shirts. Not bad- a little wrinkled, a few mud stains, but still fit! Last week we had a couple 90 degree days and so we were really digging for t-shirts that fit. Not many in there. So what’s a mama to do but get out her trusty Ginghers Fiskars?!

So I turned these:

Perfect for summer!  Of course, the wind kicked up today and it’s cold again…

Day 1 down…6 more to go! I’m hoping to have something more exciting to show tomorrow. :)

Kids Clothes Week!

Kids Clothes Week Challenge starts tomorrow! I'm-a-do-my-best to make something every day, although I admit I'll be cheating tomorrow, because it's my work day, AND the week of open house, AND staff meeting day, AND t-ball game, AND I'm snack mom...

Happy Mother’s Day!

I love this quote by Washington Irving:

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”

And since I can’t find a scanner, or even a decent picture of my best friend, Mommy, and I, here’s one of me and my loves.

Mother's Day

What’s that you say? You like my shirt? Why, thank you! I made it myself!

Happy Easter (a few days late)

OK, so I have come to terms with the fact that I am TERRIBLE with the whole blogging thing. I just never seem to be able to sit down long enough to post anything. Oh well, here’s one for April...

I made Lissy an Easter dress! Look how cute! I found a free pattern/tutorial at Made by Rae here. It was only written for brand new babies, though, so I took a dress of Lissy’s and made myself a pattern with it. Super easy, and it fit perfectly! The only thing I would have changed is to shorten the ties at the straps. They were a bit too long and so they looked a little wonky. I completed it off with a diaper cover from Made. Nothing cuter than a baby butt!

It ended up raining on Sunday morning (like EVERY Easter) but I found a preemie sized white sweater in her closet (yes I know she’s 10 months old).

And what mother, who goes through the trouble of making an Easter dress, could NOT make a matching tie for her son?? Oh yes I did! I’m that kind of cool. Of course, he refused to wear it to church, but I got him to wear it for a few pictures. Don’t mind the chocolate drool stains all over the front of his nice shirt- we’re six.

SOOOO cheesy cute!

Now We Are Six

When I was One,
I had just begun.

When I was Two,
I was nearly new.

When I was Three,
I was hardly Me.

When I was Four,
I was not much more.

When I was Five,
I was just alive.

But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.

Happy Birthday to my Buggy! I'm so honored that I have been chosen to be the mommy to such an amazing boy! I love you!!

Meet Molly

I found the CUTEST pattern for a stuffed monkey here. I just had to make it for Kylee’s birthday! It was so easy to do and I happened to have everything on hand.

Spring Fever

I haven’t gotten much crafting done between the sick days and sub days lately. But we did have a few spring-like February days. Have you ever noticed how much bluer the sky is on a spring day after a good rainstorm? Everything is so fresh and crisp and clean. I love it!
The kids love it too, especially when we’re at the park:

B’s new favorite thing? Fishing. He bought his own fishing pole with his own money and loves it. Hasn’t caught a thing, but he talks about it all the time! We went to the lake a couple of weeks ago with some friends. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast!
